  • 2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup chopped nuts (optional) Use as desired

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a saucepan, combine sugar, butter, and milk.
  2. Bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat, stirring constantly.
  3. Once boiling, allow it to boil for 5 minutes without stirring.
  4. Remove from heat and stir in chocolate chips and vanilla extract until smooth.
  5. If desired, fold in nuts.
  6. Pour the mixture into a greased 8×8 inch pan.
  7. Let it cool and set before cutting into squares.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. Refrigerate for longer storage. Let come to room temperature before serving.
