  • 225 grams whipped topping, defrosted
  • 120 millilitres sour cream
  • 90 grams pecans, chopped or whole (can substitute with sunflower seeds) Substitute with sunflower seeds if desired.
  • 310 grams mandarin oranges, drained
  • 565 grams crushed pineapple, drained
  • 280 grams maraschino cherries, drained (substitute with fresh or frozen berries if desired) Can substitute with fresh or frozen berries.
  • 80 grams sweetened coconut flakes
  • 120 grams mini marshmallows

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Gather all the ingredients and ensure that the whipped topping is fully defrosted.
  2. Drain the mandarin oranges, crushed pineapple, and maraschino cherries to remove excess liquid.
Mixing Ingredients
  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the whipped topping and sour cream. Stir them together until well blended.
  2. Add in the pecans (or sunflower seeds), mandarin oranges, crushed pineapple, maraschino cherries (or berries), sweetened coconut flakes, and mini marshmallows.
  3. Gently stir all the ingredients together until everything is evenly coated in the whipped topping mixture.
Chilling and Serving
  1. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a lid and place it in the refrigerator. Let it chill for at least 1 hour to allow the flavors to meld together.
  2. Once chilled, serve the ambrosia salad in individual bowls or a large serving dish.

Notes

Ambrosia Salad is best served cold. Garnish with extra cherries or a sprinkle of coconut for a festive touch. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3 to 5 days. Avoid leaving it out at room temperature for too long.
