Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 225°F (107°C) and line two large baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Wash and core the apples, then slice them into very thin rounds, about 1/16-inch thick, using a mandoline or a sharp knife.
- Arrange the apple slices in a single layer on the prepared baking sheets, ensuring they do not overlap; optionally, sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar.
- Bake for 1 hour, then flip the slices and continue baking for another 30-60 minutes until they are dry and crispy.
- Turn off the oven and let the apple chips cool completely inside with the door slightly ajar to enhance crispiness.
Notes
For extra crispiness, ensure the apple slices are very thin and bake them until completely dry. Store in an airtight container at room temperature.
