Ingredients
  

For the crust
  • 1.5 cups graham cracker crumbs Use finely crushed for best results.
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter, melted Ensure it's completely melted.
For the filling
  • 1 can sweetened condensed milk This will be cooked to create the toffee layer.
  • 2-3 pieces ripe bananas, sliced Use ripe bananas for the best flavor.
For the topping
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream Whip until soft peaks form.
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar Adjust to taste for sweetness.
  • Chocolate shavings For garnish, optional.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs and melted butter. Press the mixture into the bottom of a pie dish to form the crust.
  3. Bake for 10 minutes, then remove and let it cool.
Make the Toffee Filling
  1. In a heavy pot, bring the sweetened condensed milk to a boil, stirring constantly for about 10-15 minutes until it thickens and turns golden brown.
  2. Pour the caramel toffee filling into the cooled crust and let it set.
Assemble the Pie
  1. Once set, layer the sliced bananas on top of the caramel.
  2. In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar until soft peaks form. Spread or pipe the whipped cream over the bananas.
  3. Top with chocolate shavings and serve chilled.

Notes

Banoffee Pie is best served chilled and can be garnished with extra chocolate shavings or banana slices. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days.
