Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs and melted butter. Press the mixture into the bottom of a pie dish to form the crust.
- Bake for 10 minutes, then remove and let it cool.
Make the Toffee Filling
- In a heavy pot, bring the sweetened condensed milk to a boil, stirring constantly for about 10-15 minutes until it thickens and turns golden brown.
- Pour the caramel toffee filling into the cooled crust and let it set.
Assemble the Pie
- Once set, layer the sliced bananas on top of the caramel.
- In a separate bowl, whip the heavy cream with powdered sugar until soft peaks form. Spread or pipe the whipped cream over the bananas.
- Top with chocolate shavings and serve chilled.
Notes
Banoffee Pie is best served chilled and can be garnished with extra chocolate shavings or banana slices. Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 2-3 days.
