For the Beef and Broccoli
  • 1 lb Beef sirloin thinly sliced
  • 4 cups Broccoli florets
  • 12 oz Lo Mein noodles
  • 1 tbsp Sesame oil
  • 2 Garlic minced
  • 1 tsp Ginger grated
For the Sauce
  • 1/4 cup Soy sauce
  • 2 tbsp Oyster sauce
  • 1 tbsp Brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp Rice vinegar
  • 1 tbsp Cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup Water or beef broth
  • 1 tsp Sriracha optional

Equipment

  • Large skillet or wok
  • Whisk
  • Cutting board
  • Knife

Method

Prep
  1. Cook the lo mein noodles according to package directions, then drain and rinse with cold water to prevent sticking.
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together all sauce ingredients until smooth and set aside.
Cook
  1. Heat sesame oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat. Add sliced beef and cook until browned, then remove from the pan.
  2. Add garlic and ginger to the same pan and stir-fry for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add broccoli florets and stir-fry for 3-4 minutes until tender-crisp.
  4. Return the beef to the pan along with the cooked noodles. Pour in the prepared sauce.
  5. Toss everything together until well combined and the sauce has thickened, about 1-2 minutes. Serve immediately.

Notes

For extra flavor, marinate the beef for at least 30 minutes. You can substitute snap peas or bell peppers for broccoli. Adjust spice level by adding more sriracha or red pepper flakes.
