Step 1: Prepare the Beef
- Combine beef strips with soy sauce, cornstarch, and sesame oil in a bowl; marinate for at least 15 minutes.
Step 2: Cook the Noodles
- Cook lo mein noodles according to package directions, then drain and rinse with cold water; toss with a teaspoon of sesame oil to prevent sticking.
Step 3: Make the Sauce
- Whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, hoisin sauce, sugar, water, and cornstarch in a small bowl until smooth.
Step 4: Stir-fry Beef and Vegetables
- Heat 1 tablespoon of sesame oil in a large wok or skillet over medium-high heat, then stir-fry the marinated beef until browned and cooked through; remove and set aside.
- Add the remaining 1 tablespoon of sesame oil to the wok, then stir-fry minced ginger and garlic for 30 seconds until fragrant.
- Add broccoli, carrots, bell pepper, and onion to the wok, and stir-fry for 3-5 minutes until vegetables are tender-crisp.
Step 5: Combine and Serve
- Return the cooked beef to the wok with the vegetables, then add the cooked noodles and pour in the prepared sauce.
- Toss everything together until well combined and the sauce has thickened; serve immediately.
Notes
For extra spice, add a pinch of red pepper flakes with the sauce. You can also customize the vegetables based on what you have on hand.
