  • 2-3 slices fresh ginger peeled

  • 1/2-1 tablespoon simple syrup optional, to taste
  • ginger ale or club soda to top
  • Ice for shaking and serving

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a cocktail shaker, gently muddle the fresh blueberries and peeled ginger slices until the blueberries are crushed and their juices are released.
  2. Add the lime juice and simple syrup (if using) to the shaker, then fill with ice.
  3. Secure the lid and shake vigorously for about 15-20 seconds until the mixture is well chilled.
  4. Strain the mixture into a serving glass filled with fresh ice.
  5. Top off the drink with ginger ale or club soda.
  6. Garnish with a few extra blueberries, a lime wheel, or a thin slice of ginger before serving.

Notes

Adjust the amount of simple syrup based on the sweetness of your blueberries and personal preference. For a stronger ginger flavor, muddle the ginger more aggressively or add an extra slice. Fresh mint leaves can also be muddled with the blueberries for an added layer of freshness.
