Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish.
- In a large bowl, combine the bread cubes, raisins, and chocolate or cinnamon chips.
- In another bowl, whisk together the milk, heavy cream, sugar, eggs, vanilla extract, and cinnamon. Pour this mixture over the bread cubes, making sure to coat them well.
- Allow the mixture to sit for about 10 minutes to soak.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
Baking
- Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the top is golden and the custard is set.
Serving
- Serve warm with butter rum sauce drizzled on top.
Notes
You can also add a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream for an extra special treat. Cool completely before storing leftovers in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days.
