Ingredients
  

Brownie Layer
  • 1 batch Prepared brownies, cut into 1-inch cubes
Pudding Layer
  • 2 packages Instant chocolate pudding mix
  • 4 cups Cold milk
Whipped Topping Layer
  • 1 large tub Whipped topping (e.g., Cool Whip), thawed
Garnish (Optional)
  • 0.25 cup Chocolate shavings or mini chocolate chips

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the instant chocolate pudding mix and cold milk for 2 minutes until thickened, then let it stand for 5 minutes.
Assembly
  1. Place half of the brownie cubes in the bottom of a large trifle dish, spreading them evenly.
  2. Spoon half of the prepared chocolate pudding over the brownie layer, spreading it gently to cover.
  3. Spread half of the whipped topping over the pudding layer.
  4. Repeat the layers with the remaining brownies, pudding, and whipped topping.
Chilling and Garnish
  1. Cover the trifle and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, allowing the flavors to meld. Before serving, garnish with chocolate shavings or mini chocolate chips if desired.

Notes

For best results, ensure the brownies are completely cooled before assembling. You can use homemade brownies or a store-bought mix. Vanilla pudding can be used as an alternative to chocolate.
