  • 8 oz pasta (fettuccine or linguine)
  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
Sauce Base
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 2 teaspoons Cajun seasoning Adjust based on desired spiciness
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Cook the pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat.
  3. Add the diced onions and minced garlic, cooking until softened.
Cooking
  1. Add the shrimp and Cajun seasoning, cooking until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.
  2. Pour in the chicken broth and heavy cream, stirring to combine.
  3. Let the sauce simmer for a few minutes until slightly thickened.
  4. Toss the cooked pasta in the sauce until well coated.
  5. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  6. Garnish with chopped parsley and serve immediately.

Notes

For extra flavor, you can add bell peppers or mushrooms while cooking the onions and garlic. Be careful not to overcook the shrimp; they should only take a few minutes to become pink and opaque. Adjust the Cajun seasoning to your taste for a milder flavor.
