  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder Whisk well to avoid lumps.
  • 2 tablespoons sugar Adjust based on sweetness preference.
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract For extra flavor, add a dash of peppermint extract.
  • 2 tablespoons crushed candy canes
For serving
  • 1 serving Whipped cream For topping.
  • 1 tablespoon Extra crushed candy canes For garnish.

Preparation
  1. In a small saucepan, heat the milk over medium heat.
  2. Whisk in the cocoa powder, sugar, and vanilla extract until everything is well combined and warmed through.
  3. Stir in the crushed candy canes until they are dissolved.
Serving
  1. Pour the hot cocoa into mugs.
  2. Top with whipped cream and sprinkle with extra crushed candy canes.
  3. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

Serve in festive mugs, and consider adding a candy cane stick for extra decoration. Best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to two days.
