Dough Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Can substitute with whole wheat flour
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 3/4 cup warm water Make sure the water is warm but not too hot
  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
Filling and Topping Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese (mozzarella or cheddar) Feel free to experiment with different types of cheese
  • 2 tablespoons garlic, minced You can use garlic powder as an alternative
  • 2 tablespoons butter, softened (for garlic butter)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped (optional) For garnish

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a bowl, combine warm water and yeast, letting it sit until frothy (about 5 minutes).
  2. In another bowl, mix flour, sugar, and salt. Add the yeast mixture and melted butter, stirring until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled in size (about 1 hour).
Baking
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Punch down the dough and divide it into small balls.
  3. In a small bowl, mix softened butter with garlic.
  4. Flatten each dough ball, add cheese, and wrap to seal.
  5. Place rolls in a greased baking dish, brush with garlic butter, and sprinkle parsley on top if using.
  6. Bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

These rolls can be served with pasta, soup, or salad and are best enjoyed warm. To store leftovers, keep them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to two days or freeze them for up to three months.
