Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake tray with liners.
- In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- Add the softened butter, eggs, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients, and mix until well combined.
- Gradually stir in the milk and then the boiling water until the batter is smooth.
- Fill the cupcake liners about two-thirds full with batter.
Baking
- Bake for 15-18 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Allow cooling completely.
Decoration
- Once cooled, top the cupcakes with chocolate ganache and decorate with gold decorations as desired.
Notes
Store cupcakes in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days, or refrigerate for up to a week. Let sit at room temperature before serving.
