- Whisk together the instant chocolate pudding mix with cold milk according to package directions, then let it set for 5 minutes.
- In a separate bowl, beat heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form to create whipped cream.
- Slice the chocolate cake rolls into 1/2-inch thick rounds using a sharp knife.
- Arrange half of the sliced cake rolls in a single layer on the bottom of a large trifle dish.
- Spread half of the prepared chocolate pudding evenly over the cake rolls.
- Carefully spread half of the whipped cream over the pudding layer.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining cake rolls, pudding, and whipped cream.
- Cover the trifle and refrigerate for at least 3 hours; garnish with chocolate shavings or mini chocolate chips before serving.
Notes
