  • 4 cups Cold milk
  • 1 large tub Frozen whipped topping thawed
  • 0.5 cup Chocolate shavings or mini chocolate chips

Method
 

Assembly
  1. Prepare the chocolate pudding according to package directions using cold milk; set aside to chill and thicken.
  2. Slice the chocolate cake rolls into 1/2-inch thick rounds. Arrange half of the cake slices in a single layer at the bottom of a large trifle dish.
  3. Spread half of the prepared chocolate pudding over the cake layer, then top with half of the thawed whipped topping.
  4. Repeat the layers with the remaining cake slices, pudding, and whipped topping.
  5. Garnish the top of the trifle with chocolate shavings or mini chocolate chips. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or preferably overnight, before serving to allow flavors to meld and layers to set.

Notes

For an extra touch, drizzle with chocolate syrup or garnish with fresh berries before serving.
