Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, whisk together the sugar, cocoa powder, and flour until well combined.
- Add the melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract, and mix until smooth.
- If desired, stir in chocolate chips.
- Pour the filling into the prepared pie crust.
Baking
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is set and has a crackly texture.
- Allow to cool before serving.
Notes
Serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. Store in the refrigerator for 3-4 days or freeze for up to 3 months. Make sure the pie crust is fully baked before adding filling to avoid a soggy bottom.
