  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened Use room temperature for better mixing.
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips Can experiment with dark or milk chocolate.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
  3. Beat in the vanilla extract and eggs, one at a time, until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, mix the flour, baking soda, and salt together.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips with a spatula.
Baking
  1. Scoop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving space between each cookie.
  2. Bake for 9 to 11 minutes or until the edges are golden and the center is set.
  3. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

These cookies are best enjoyed warm and fresh out of the oven. Serve them with a glass of cold milk or pair with ice cream for an indulgent treat. To store, let them cool completely and place in an airtight container. They stay fresh for up to a week at room temperature.
