Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt; gradually add to the creamed mixture.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased baking sheets.
Baking
- Bake for 9 to 11 minutes in the preheated oven, or until the edges are nicely golden.
- Allow to cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.
Notes
Serve warm with a glass of milk or topped with ice cream. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week, or freeze for up to three months.
