Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 12 large, fresh strawberries
  • 12 oz melting chocolate (milk or semi-sweet)
  • 24 small candy eyes
  • 1 bag candy corn (for feathers and beaks)
  • 1 tube/small amount orange icing or melted orange candy wafers (optional, for feet)

Equipment

  • Microwave-safe bowls
  • Parchment paper
  • Baking sheet
  • Toothpicks or small spatula
  • Piping bag or zip-top bag (for icing)

Method

Instructions
  1. Wash and thoroughly dry 12 large, fresh strawberries, ensuring they are completely moisture-free.
  2. Melt 12 oz of melting chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 30 seconds until completely smooth.
  3. Dip each strawberry into the melted chocolate, coating about two-thirds of the way up, then place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
  4. While the chocolate is still wet, carefully attach two small candy eyes and three pieces of candy corn to each strawberry to create the turkey’s face and tail feathers.
  5. Break off the tips of candy corn pieces to form small beaks and wattles, attaching them to the strawberries with a tiny dab of melted chocolate if needed.
  6. If desired, use orange icing or melted orange candy wafers to pipe small "feet" at the base of each chocolate-covered strawberry turkey.
  7. Refrigerate the completed turkeys for at least 30 minutes, or until the chocolate is fully set and firm, before serving.

Notes

Use good quality chocolate for a smooth melt and ensure strawberries are completely dry before dipping to help the chocolate adhere. Chill thoroughly to set the chocolate and prevent melting at room temperature.
