Instructions
- Wash and thoroughly dry 12 large, fresh strawberries, ensuring they are completely moisture-free.
- Melt 12 oz of melting chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 30 seconds until completely smooth.
- Dip each strawberry into the melted chocolate, coating about two-thirds of the way up, then place them on a parchment-lined baking sheet.
- While the chocolate is still wet, carefully attach two small candy eyes and three pieces of candy corn to each strawberry to create the turkey’s face and tail feathers.
- Break off the tips of candy corn pieces to form small beaks and wattles, attaching them to the strawberries with a tiny dab of melted chocolate if needed.
- If desired, use orange icing or melted orange candy wafers to pipe small "feet" at the base of each chocolate-covered strawberry turkey.
- Refrigerate the completed turkeys for at least 30 minutes, or until the chocolate is fully set and firm, before serving.
Notes
Use good quality chocolate for a smooth melt and ensure strawberries are completely dry before dipping to help the chocolate adhere. Chill thoroughly to set the chocolate and prevent melting at room temperature.
