Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8x8 inch baking pan, lining it with parchment paper.
- In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over low heat, then remove from heat and stir in the granulated sugar until combined.
Mixing
- Whisk in the cocoa powder until smooth, followed by the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated.
- Stir in the vanilla extract, then gently fold in the all-purpose flour and salt until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
- If using, gently fold in the chocolate chips.
Baking
- Pour the brownie batter evenly into the prepared baking pan.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted a couple of inches from the edge comes out with moist crumbs, but not wet batter.
Cooling & Serving
- Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before lifting out and cutting into squares.
- Serve and enjoy these rich, fudgy brownies!
Notes
For extra fudginess, avoid overbaking; the center may look slightly underdone but will set as it cools. Always allow brownies to cool completely before cutting to achieve clean slices and the best texture.
