  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet mixture, blending until just combined.
  5. Fill a cookie press with the dough and press onto ungreased baking sheets.
  6. Decorate with colored sugar or sprinkles if desired.
Baking
  1. Bake in the preheated oven for about 8-10 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden.
  2. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
