Preparation
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time, then stir in vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Gently fold in the crushed Oreo cookies and white chocolate chips (if using) until evenly distributed throughout the dough.
- Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and the centers are just set. Let cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
For best results, do not overbake the cookies; they will continue to set as they cool. Chilling the dough for at least 30 minutes can help prevent spreading.
