  • 1 pound Fresh green beans Choose firm and bright green beans for best results.
  • 2 tablespoons Butter Add more for richer flavor if desired.
  • 1 teaspoon Salt Adjust to taste.
  • 1/2 teaspoon Pepper Freshly ground is recommended.

Preparation
  1. Trim the ends of the fresh green beans.
Cooking
  1. Bring a pot of water to a boil and add a pinch of salt.
  2. Add the green beans and steam them for about 3-5 minutes until they are bright green and just tender.
  3. Drain the beans and return them to the pot.
  4. Add butter, salt, and pepper to taste.
  5. Toss gently until the beans are coated with the butter.
  6. Serve immediately.

Notes

Consider adding crushed garlic while steaming for extra flavor. Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the microwave for best results, but be careful not to overcook.
