Ingredients
  

For the cake
  • 1 cup butter, softened Ensure butter is at room temperature for better mixing.
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • to taste blue food coloring Add until desired color is achieved.
For the frosting
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 4 tablespoons milk Adjust for desired consistency.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Then stir in the vanilla extract.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk. Stir until just combined.
  6. Divide the batter into two bowls. In one bowl, add blue food coloring until you reach your desired color.
  7. Grease and flour a baking pan, then pour in the blue batter followed by the white batter. Swirl them together with a knife for a marbled effect.
Baking
  1. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  2. Let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Frosting
  1. For the frosting, mix powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla in a bowl. Adjust the consistency as needed.
  2. Divide it into two parts and color one part blue.
  3. Once the treats are cool, spread the white frosting on half of them and the blue frosting on the other half.

Notes

Store treats in an airtight container. They can be kept at room temperature for up to 3 days or refrigerated for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze un-frosted treats wrapped tightly in plastic wrap for up to 3 months.
