Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 4 chicken breasts
  • 1 cup teriyaki sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon minced ginger
  • salt
  • pepper
  • cooked rice or noodles for serving
  • chopped green onions for garnish, optional

Equipment

  • Crockpot or slow cooker for cooking the chicken
  • Mixing bowl for preparing the sauce
  • 2 Forks for shredding the chicken
  • Measuring spoons for honey, garlic, and ginger
  • Serving bowl or plate for serving the finished dish

Method

  1. Place the chicken breasts in the crockpot.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the teriyaki sauce, honey, minced garlic, and minced ginger.
  3. Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6–8 hours or on high for 3–4 hours.
  5. Once cooked, shred the chicken with two forks and stir to combine with the sauce.
  6. Serve over cooked rice or noodles, and garnish with chopped green onions if desired.

Notes

Use enough sauce to keep the chicken moist and flavorful. Add vegetables like bell peppers, broccoli, or snap peas for a one-pot meal. For extra flavor, marinate the chicken in the sauce for a few hours before cooking.
