Fudge Base
  • 14 oz sweetened condensed milk
  • 24 oz white chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup yellow cake mix dry mix only, heat-treated
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup Christmas sprinkles

Equipment

  • Saucepan
  • 8x8 inch baking dish
  • Parchment paper
  • Rubber spatula

Method

Preparation
  1. Line an 8x8 inch baking dish with parchment paper, ensuring an overhang for easy removal, then set it aside.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine the sweetened condensed milk and white chocolate chips over low heat, stirring continuously until melted and smooth.
  3. Remove the saucepan from the heat, then stir in the heat-treated cake mix and vanilla extract until completely combined.
  4. Gently fold in most of the Christmas sprinkles, reserving a few for garnish if desired, then pour the mixture into the prepared dish and spread evenly.
  5. Refrigerate the fudge for a minimum of 2 hours, or until it is firm enough to cut; then lift it out using the parchment paper and slice into squares.

Notes

Ensure your cake mix is heat-treated before adding to the fudge mixture to prevent any raw flour concerns. For extra festive flair, add a sprinkle of edible glitter on top before chilling.
