Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed Make sure the butter is very cold for a flaky texture.
  • 3/4 cup milk

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  4. Make a well in the center and pour in the milk, then stir until just combined.
  5. Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead it gently for about 30 seconds.
  6. Roll or pat the dough to about 1 inch thick and cut out biscuits with a biscuit cutter.
  7. Place the biscuits on a baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown.
  9. Let cool slightly and serve warm.

Notes

Serve warm with butter and honey, and delicious with jam, gravy, or alongside soups and stews. Store in an airtight container at room temperature for a couple of days or freeze for up to three months.
