Ingredients
  

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour Ensure it's sifted for better texture.
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted Should be at room temperature.
  • 1 cup brown sugar Packed firmly.
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg Room temperature preferred.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Mix-ins
  • 1 cup M&M's Adjust amount if desired.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, combine the melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients until just combined.
  6. Fold in the M&M's.
  7. Spread the dough evenly in the prepared baking pan.
Baking
  1. Bake for about 20-25 minutes or until the edges are golden.
  2. Allow to cool before cutting into bars.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 4-5 days. For longer storage, wrap bars individually in plastic wrap and store in a freezer-safe bag for up to 3 months. Thaw in the refrigerator before enjoying.
