Ingredients
  

Dough
  • 2 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp Baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 cup Unsalted butter cold and cubed
  • 3/4 cup Milk
Cranberry Filling
  • 2 cups Cranberries fresh or frozen
  • 1/2 cup Granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp Orange zest
  • 1/4 cup Water
  • 1 tbsp Cornstarch

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt, then cut in the cold butter until crumbly. Gradually add milk to form a soft dough.
  3. For the filling, simmer cranberries, sugar, orange zest, and water in a saucepan until cranberries burst. Stir in a cornstarch slurry and cook until thickened, then let it cool completely.
  4. On a floured surface, roll the dough into a 12x16 inch rectangle and spread the cooled cranberry filling evenly, leaving a small border.
  5. Roll up the dough tightly from the long side, then cut into 12 equal slices and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown, then cool slightly before serving.

Notes

For an extra festive touch, dust with powdered sugar before serving or drizzle with a simple orange glaze.
