Ingredients

Dry Ingredients
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 4 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 4 teaspoons baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon salt
Wet Ingredients
  • 2 eggs
  • cups milk (2%)
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla bean paste (or vanilla extract)

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your waffle iron. Spray it with non-stick cooking spray right before pouring the batter inside.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Use the back of a spoon to create a well in the center. Set aside.
  3. In a small bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk. Add in the melted butter and vanilla bean paste (or extract) and whisk until combined.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the well of the flour mixture and whisk until blended. Be careful not to overmix; the batter should be lumpy.
Cooking
  1. Scoop the batter into the preheated waffle iron and cook until the waffles are golden brown and slightly crispy. Repeat with the remaining batter.
  2. Serve immediately or refrigerate or freeze until ready to serve.

Notes

Serve warm topped with fresh fruits, syrup, or whipped cream. Leftover waffles can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or frozen for up to 2 months.
