  • 10 oz Miniature marshmallows about 6 cups
  • 10-15 drops Green food coloring
  • 6 cups Rice Krispies cereal

  • 1/2 cup Semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 24 Candy eyes
  • 12-24 Pretzel sticks

Equipment

  • Large saucepan
  • Spatula
  • 9x13 inch baking pan
  • Microwave-safe bowl

Method

Making the Treats
  1. Melt butter in a large saucepan over low heat, then add marshmallows and stir until completely melted and smooth.
  2. Remove the pan from heat and stir in the green food coloring until the mixture is uniformly green.
  3. Gently mix in the Rice Krispies cereal until it is fully coated with the green marshmallow mixture.
  4. Press the mixture evenly into a greased 9x13 inch baking pan and allow it to cool completely before cutting into squares or rectangles.
Decorating the Frankensteins
  1. Melt chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring until smooth, then transfer the melted chocolate to a piping bag or a ziploc bag with a tiny corner snipped off.
  2. Pipe chocolate onto the top edge of each treat to create Frankenstein's "hair" and then draw a mouth.
  3. Attach two candy eyes onto each treat using a small dab of melted chocolate.
  4. Break pretzel sticks in half and insert two halves into the sides of each treat to form the "neck bolts."

Notes

For easy removal, line your baking pan with parchment paper and lightly grease it.
