Brownie Preparation
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt; set aside.
- In a separate large bowl, combine melted butter and granulated sugar, then beat in eggs one at a time, followed by vanilla extract until well mixed.
- Gradually add the dry ingredient mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined and no streaks of flour remain.
- Pour batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly, then bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
- Allow brownies to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before frosting.
Frosting and Decoration
- In a large bowl, beat softened butter until creamy; gradually add powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth and fluffy.
- Divide frosting into two portions and tint one with red food coloring and the other with green, or use one color for a unified look.
- Once brownies are fully cooled, spread the frosting evenly over the top using a spatula or pipe decorative patterns.
- Generously sprinkle with Christmas sprinkles before the frosting sets.
Notes
For extra fudgy brownies, be careful not to overbake them. A toothpick inserted into the center should come out with moist crumbs, not wet batter. Get creative with your Christmas sprinkles and food coloring!
