Preparation
- Crush the Red Velvet Oreos finely using a food processor or by hand in a Ziploc bag until no large chunks remain.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the crushed Oreos and softened cream cheese until thoroughly mixed and a dough-like consistency is formed.
- Roll the mixture into small, uniform balls, about 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment or wax paper.
- Chill the Oreo balls in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes, or until firm.
Dipping and Decorating
- Melt the green candy melts according to package directions, typically in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring until smooth.
- Dip each chilled Oreo ball into the melted green candy coating, using a fork or dipping tool, ensuring it's fully coated, then gently tap off excess.
- Place the dipped balls back on the lined baking sheet and immediately add a single red heart sprinkle to each before the coating sets.
- Refrigerate the finished Grinch Oreo balls until the candy coating is completely set, then store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
Notes
For easier dipping, you can add a teaspoon of shortening or coconut oil to the candy melts to thin them slightly.
