  • ¼ cup Red gel icing or raspberry jam
  • 12 pairs Plastic vampire fangs

Equipment

  • Mixing bowls
  • Whisk
  • Electric mixer
  • Muffin tin
  • Cupcake liners
  • Piping bag with star tip

Method

Cupcake Preparation
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners. In a large bowl, whisk together flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. In another bowl, cream softened butter, then beat in eggs, milk, and vanilla extract until well combined. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  3. Fill cupcake liners about two-thirds full with batter and bake for 18-22 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. Let them cool completely on a wire rack.
Frosting and Decoration
  1. In a large bowl, beat softened butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract, beating until light and fluffy. Add a few drops of red food coloring to create a pale pink or off-white "flesh" tone.
  2. Frost each cooled cupcake using a piping bag with a star tip or a knife. Drizzle red gel icing or raspberry jam over the frosting to resemble blood.
  3. Insert a pair of plastic vampire fangs into the center of each cupcake, creating a "bite" effect.

Notes

For an extra spooky effect, you can use chocolate cupcakes and a darker red "blood" drizzle.
