  • 3 pieces ripe bananas Use very ripe bananas for the best flavor and sweetness.
  • 1 cup protein powder Feel free to experiment with different types of protein powder.
  • 1/2 cup cocoa powder For a twist, try swapping cocoa powder with carob powder.
  • 1/2 cup almond flour Ensure it's certified gluten-free if needed.
  • 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup You can adjust the amount to your liking for sweetness.
  • 2 pieces eggs
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil, melted
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips Optional ingredient for added flavor.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a loaf pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mash the bananas until smooth.
  3. Add the protein powder, cocoa powder, almond flour, honey or maple syrup, eggs, melted coconut oil, baking soda, salt, and vanilla extract. Mix until well combined.
  4. If using, fold in the dark chocolate chips.
Baking
  1. Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
  2. Bake for 45-50 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  3. Let it cool for a few minutes in the pan before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

This bread tastes great on its own but can be served with butter, honey, or fresh fruit. Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
