Ingredients

Cookie Dough
  • 1 cup Butter, unsalted softened
  • 3/4 cup Granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup Brown sugar packed
  • 2 Eggs, large
  • 2 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 2 1/4 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp Baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 2 cups Chocolate chips

Equipment

  • Electric mixer
  • Mixing bowls
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Baking sheets
  • Wire rack

Method

Instructions
  1. Cream together the softened butter and both sugars in a large bowl until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  2. Beat in the eggs one at a time, ensuring each is fully incorporated, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt; gradually add these dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing until just combined.
  4. Gently fold in the chocolate chips until they are evenly distributed throughout the cookie dough.
  5. Drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto ungreased baking sheets and bake until the edges are golden brown.
  6. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

For best results, do not overmix the dough after adding the flour. This keeps the cookies tender and chewy.
