Ingredients
  

Dough Ingredients
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 packet active dry yeast (2 1/4 teaspoons)
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup whole milk Warm, not hot
  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter Softened
  • 2 large eggs
Filling Ingredients
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon Adjust according to taste
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar Packed
Icing Ingredients
  • 1 cup cream cheese Softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Method
 

Prepare the Dough
  1. In a large bowl, mix the flour, granulated sugar, yeast, and salt together.
  2. In a saucepan, heat the milk and butter until warm.
  3. Add this warm mixture to the dry ingredients in the bowl.
  4. Stir in the eggs and knead the dough until it is smooth.
  5. Let the dough rise in a warm place for about one hour, or until it doubles in size.
Form the Buns
  1. Roll out the dough into a rectangle.
  2. Spread soft butter over the dough and sprinkle it with cinnamon and brown sugar.
  3. Roll the dough into a log shape and cut it into individual buns.
  4. Place the buns in a greased baking dish and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
Bake the Buns
  1. Bake the buns in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 25-30 minutes, or until they are golden brown.
Make the Icing
  1. For the icing, beat the cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
Serve
  1. Drizzle the icing over the warm cinnamon buns and enjoy!

Notes

Store any leftover cinnamon buns in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. For longer storage, freeze them wrapped tightly in plastic wrap for up to 3 months. You can customize the filling with nuts, raisins, or chocolate chips for different flavors.
