Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a pie dish.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef and chopped onion until browned. Drain excess grease.
- In a bowl, whisk together the milk, eggs, flour, baking powder, salt, pepper, garlic powder, and optional mustard.
Assembly
- Spread the beef and onion mixture in the bottom of the pie dish.
- Pour the batter over the meat mixture, then sprinkle shredded cheese on top.
Baking
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the top is golden and set.
- Let it cool slightly before slicing and serving.
Notes
Serve warm with a fresh salad or steamed vegetables. For extra flavor, serve with ketchup or mustard. Store leftovers covered in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
