Preparation and Cooking
- Heat olive oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a large frying pan over medium to medium-high heat.
- Slice chicken breasts lengthwise into four thinner pieces. Season with salt and pepper, then coat evenly with flour.
- Cook the floured chicken for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown. Remove from the pan and set aside.
- Melt the remaining butter over medium-low heat. Cook the sliced garlic for 30-60 seconds until fragrant.
- Add soy sauce and vinegar, scraping the pan bits. Stir in honey, pepper, and salt, then simmer for 4-5 minutes until thickened.
- Return the chicken to the pan and simmer in the sauce for 1 minute until warm. Serve garnished with sliced green onions.
Notes
For serving, pair with rice, steamed vegetables, or a fresh salad. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days. Reheat in the microwave or stovetop until heated through. For a spicy kick, add red pepper flakes to the sauce. Swap chicken for firm tofu for a vegetarian option.
