Ingredients

  • 10 pieces fresh jalapeños
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • to taste Salt and pepper
  • 1 cup bread crumbs (optional) For extra crispiness.
  • as needed Cooking spray or olive oil For baking.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Cut each jalapeño in half lengthwise and remove the seeds and membranes (use gloves if you prefer).
  3. In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper until well combined.
Assembly
  1. Spoon the cheese mixture into each jalapeño half, pressing it down gently.
  2. If you like them crispy, dip the stuffed jalapeños in bread crumbs to coat them.
Baking
  1. Place the filled jalapeños on a baking sheet and spray lightly with cooking spray or drizzle with olive oil.
  2. Bake in the oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until the jalapeños are tender and the cheese is bubbly.
  3. Allow them to cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

Serve jalapeño poppers hot with dipping sauces like ranch, sour cream, or hot sauce. Store leftover poppers in an airtight container for up to 3 days and reheat in the oven.
