Ingredients
  

Crust
  • 2 cups crushed pretzels Pretzel twists work better than sticks.
  • ¾ cup butter, melted
  • 1 3 tablespoons granulated sugar Divided
Cream Cheese Layer
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 8 oz frozen whipped topping, thawed
Strawberry Layer
  • 6 oz strawberry gelatin
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 1 lb fresh strawberries, sliced

Method
 

Preparation
  1. Crush the pretzels and mix them with sugar and melted butter.
  2. Press the mixture into a baking dish and bake until set, then let it cool completely.
  3. Beat the cream cheese and sugar until smooth, then gently fold in the whipped topping.
  4. Spread this cream cheese layer evenly over the cooled crust.
  5. Mix the strawberry gelatin with boiling water and let it cool slightly.
  6. Stir in sliced strawberries, then gently pour this mixture over the cream cheese layer.
  7. Cover and refrigerate until fully set, about 2-4 hours.
Serving
  1. Serve chilled, sliced into squares or scooped out.
  2. Top with a dollop of whipped cream and a fresh strawberry if desired.
