  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 3 large eggs Use room temperature for better texture.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter Melted.

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour a cake pan.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, salt, baking powder, and baking soda.
  3. In another bowl, combine buttermilk, eggs, vanilla extract, and oil. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  4. Melt the butter and stir into the batter until smooth.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
Baking
  1. Bake for about 1 hour or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  2. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before serving.

Notes

To serve, dress it up with a simple glaze, fresh berries, or whipped cream. Store the cake in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days, refrigerate for up to a week, or freeze for up to 3 months.
