  • 1 cup shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice) Any cheese of your choice can be used
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup flour For binding the mixture
  • 1 piece egg Helps to hold puffs together
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Oil for frying (or butter for baking) Use oil for frying or butter for baking

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, shredded cheese, Parmesan, flour, egg, salt, and pepper.
  2. Mix until well combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into small puffs or balls.
Cooking
  1. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat or preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. If frying, carefully place the puffs in the hot oil and cook until golden brown on all sides.
  3. If baking, place on a greased baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes or until golden.
Serving
  1. Serve warm as appetizers or side dishes.

Notes

Experiment with different types of cheese for varied flavors. Use leftover mashed potatoes for a quick preparation. If you prefer a healthier version, consider baking instead of frying them.
