Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until smooth.
- Beat in the vanilla extract.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually combine the dry ingredients with the wet ingredients.
- Roll the dough into small balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spacing them apart.
Baking
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are lightly golden.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack.
- Dust with powdered sugar, if desired, before serving.
Notes
Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze them once fully cooled. The dough can be made ahead of time and refrigerated for up to 3 days.
