  • 2 Large eggs
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • 2.5 cups All-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp Baking soda

Monster Mash Mix-ins
  • 1 cup Chocolate chips
  • 0.5 cup M&M's candies
  • 0.25 cup Halloween sprinkles

Equipment

  • 9x13 inch baking pan
  • Mixing bowls
  • Electric mixer
  • Spatula
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method

Preparation
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides.
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract until well combined.
  4. In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  6. Gently fold in the chocolate chips, M&M's candies, and Halloween sprinkles.
Baking
  1. Press the cookie dough evenly into the prepared baking pan.
  2. Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
  3. Let the cookie bars cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before attempting to cut them.
  4. Once cooled, use the parchment paper overhang to lift the bars out of the pan and cut them into squares or rectangles.

Notes

For extra festive flair, add a layer of white chocolate melted and drizzled over the cooled bars, then immediately top with more sprinkles before it sets.
