Preparation
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9x13 inch baking pan with parchment paper, leaving an overhang on the sides.
- In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the vanilla extract until well combined.
- In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Gently fold in the chocolate chips, M&M's candies, and Halloween sprinkles.
Baking
- Press the cookie dough evenly into the prepared baking pan.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs.
- Let the cookie bars cool completely in the pan on a wire rack before attempting to cut them.
- Once cooled, use the parchment paper overhang to lift the bars out of the pan and cut them into squares or rectangles.
Notes
For extra festive flair, add a layer of white chocolate melted and drizzled over the cooled bars, then immediately top with more sprinkles before it sets.
