Cake
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 0.5 tsp salt
  • 0.5 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup milk

Method
 

Crumb Topping
  1. Combine dry ingredients for the topping, then mix in melted butter until large crumbs form. Set aside.
Cake

  2. Gradually add dry ingredients alternately with milk to the wet mixture until just combined.
Assembly and Baking

  2. Let the cake cool completely before slicing and serving.

Notes
