No-Knead Honey Oat Bread

Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 2 cups rolled oats
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water Make sure the water is warm, not hot, to activate the yeast.
  • 1/4 cup honey Can be substituted with maple syrup or agave syrup.
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 packet active dry yeast (2 teaspoons)
  • 3 cups all-purpose flour Can swap some for whole wheat flour.

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a large bowl, combine the oats and warm water. Let sit for about 10 minutes.
  2. Stir in the honey, salt, and yeast.
  3. Gradually add flour until just combined.
  4. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and let rise for about 12 hours at room temperature.
Baking
  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Transfer the dough to a greased loaf pan.
  3. Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until golden brown and sounds hollow when tapped.
  4. Let cool before slicing.

Notes

Serve warm or at room temperature with butter, honey, jam, or for making sandwiches. Store in an airtight container for up to three days or freeze for up to three months.
