Ingredients
  

For the vegetables
  • 2 tbsp olive oil for sautéing vegetables and noodles to golden perfection
  • 1 yellow onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 stalks celery, sliced
  • 1/2 head cabbage, shredded
  • 2 scallions, sliced reserve some for garnish
For the noodles and sauce
  • 1 pack chow mein noodles with seasoning packet
  • 3 tbsp soy sauce for sauce
  • 2 tbsp oyster sauce for sauce
  • 1 tsp sesame oil for sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic paste for sauce
  • 1 tsp ginger paste for sauce
  • 1 tbsp brown sugar for sauce
  • 1/2 tsp white pepper for sauce
  • 1 tbsp cornstarch for sauce

Method
 

Preparation
  1. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, garlic paste, ginger paste, brown sugar, white pepper, and cornstarch until smooth.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add sliced onion, celery, and shredded cabbage to the skillet. Sauté for 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are tender and fragrant.
  4. Stir in the chow mein noodles and seasoning packet, then pour the prepared sauce over everything. Toss until well combined.
  5. Allow the mixture to cook for an additional 3-5 minutes, stirring occasionally until the noodles are heated through and begin to crisp up.
  6. Remove from heat and top with reserved sliced scallions. Serve immediately.

Notes

Serve hot and fresh with your favorite protein. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. Reheat before serving.
