Pilgrim Hat Cookies

Ingredients
  

Main Ingredients
  • 1 package Fudge Stripe Shortbread Cookies
  • 24 Reese's Peanut Butter Cups (mini or regular)
  • 1 can Chocolate frosting (12-16 oz)
Optional Decoration
  • Yellow or orange candy melts/frosting for buckle

Equipment

  • Small knife or spatula
  • Piping bag (optional, for buckle)

Method
 

Assembly
  1. Unwrap all peanut butter cups and prepare your workspace with cookies and frosting.
  2. Spread a small amount of chocolate frosting onto the flat bottom of each peanut butter cup.
  3. Carefully place the frosted peanut butter cup in the center of the flat side of a fudge stripe cookie, pressing gently to secure and form the "hat".
  4. If desired, melt yellow or orange candy melts or use frosting to pipe a small square "buckle" onto the front of each chocolate hat.
Setting
  1. Allow the cookies to set at room temperature for about 30 minutes, or refrigerate for 10-15 minutes to speed up the process.

Notes

For quicker setting, place the assembled cookies in the refrigerator for 10-15 minutes. These cookies are best enjoyed within a few days and can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature.
