Ingredients

Main Ingredients
  • 1 pound ground beef Can substitute with ground turkey or chicken for a lighter version.
  • 1 can diced tomatoes with green chilies (like Rotel) Use hot or mild based on preference.
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or Mexican blend)
  • 1 packet taco seasoning Optional for extra flavor.
  • Tortilla chips For serving.

Method

Preparation
  1. In a skillet, brown the ground beef over medium heat until fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Add the can of diced tomatoes with green chilies and taco seasoning (if using) to the skillet, stirring to combine.
Cooking
  1. Reduce the heat to low and mix in the sour cream, stirring until the mixture is smooth and heated through.
  2. Gradually add in the shredded cheese, continuing to stir until melted and combined.
Serving
  1. Serve warm with tortilla chips for dipping.
  2. Add toppings like chopped green onions, sliced black olives, or jalapeƱos for extra flavor.

Notes

If you have leftovers, store the dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator. Reheat gently before serving again. For a vegetarian version, omit the ground beef and add beans.
